Eighteen is Topnachbeats debut solo album, and contains 15 hip hop instrumentals curated by the artist / producer from a catalog of over 1500 beats still to be unearthed. The title “Eighteen” is a nod to how many years Topnachbeats has been beat making, and the song titles pay homage to his father who was a classically trained pianist and passed down the special gift of music to his son. “Eighteen” has its own sound, heavy-hitting, yet somehow meandering, moody, atmospheric and orchestral. Heady synths, piano hooks that linger under fluid pads, driving bass, with kicks that thump. Percussive, somewhat psychedelic, and always thought provoking,

“The album was created with nothing but love for music. The tracks weren’t specified for a particular rapper, rather influenced by the sounds that I discovered producing in the studio. After coming across too many flaky rappers for collaborations, I finally decided to release these beats as instrumentals. Knowing the caliber of material I have, I wanted everyone to hear how I create, and my capabilities as a writer / producer. Kind of like a F U to those who passed or didn’t follow through because I had a tiny following. Eighteen is mixed and produced on my own, and goes from West Coast street heavy to the grand finale ambient solo sound on the track “His Kid” which was inspired by Pink Floyd.”
