“Flipped” was birthed as producer Topnachbeats stirred up and experimented sampling a riff from Astral22’s “Imperial Theme (Instrumental)”. Something new came to life in an unexpected genius kind of way. By slowing the tempo, texturing samples, developing a free flowing syncopated rhythm, urgent and focused, the transformation began. Astral22 then went on to “flip the flip” Floating layers of jazzy lofi elements, strings, and glitch sounds, this instrumental on the one hand hits hard, yet soothes and creates its own vibe. Two distinct minds, producers collaborating with their own processes, influences; one in the realm of hip hop, 808’s that rumble subwoofers, complex rhythms, kicks and snares, hi hats, percussion, layered with soulful, ambient, vocal elements, playing off the distinct rhythm and rhodes samples, mixing layers of sounds that make for a dynamic listening experience. “Flipped” expresses these two producers’ love of music, their spontaneity, and ability to creatively combine two distinct visions into one rousing soundscape.
